All are Blessed in Abraham

There is neither Jew nor pagan in Him,
because the sons of Abraham
are those that have believed in Jesus-Christ.
All nations, tribes and peoples are made one in Him
Whilst working on the Project Samuel web site the theme of "unity" and especially the phrase " all nations " often come to mind. Our vision is to establish links between peoples, building bridges both sides of the Mediterranean, we therefore ask ourselves the following questions regularly; “How can two cultures be brought closer together?” “ What about the linguistic barriers?”

Come back with me to the beginning of the history of the nations. At Babel God dispersed humanity by confusing their language and the walls of separation between men and women were built (Genesis 11v9). But God said to Abraham in chapter 18v18 of Genesis that every nation would be blessed in him. Has this promise been accomplished?

Before looking closer at this question, let us go back again in history to the time of the pagan king, Nebuchadnezzar, in the book of Daniel. This king believed he was god of the whole earth and commanded every nation to bow down in front of his statue and adore him (Daniel 3v4-5). What a humiliation for him later when he was brought before the only God, creator of the universe! He confessed with his mouth that the God of Daniel and He alone was worthy of glory and that nobody should speak wrongly of Him (verse 29) ! Darius, his successor, also acknowledged Daniel’s God to be the true and living God (6.25-27). But what interests me above all in this book is the vision of Daniel that follows this episode. In his dream he sees a person, like a son of man, approaching the Lord, who gives him domination, glory and sovereignty over all the nations and we read, " people of every race, nation and language would serve him. His rule is eternal, it will never pass away, and his kingdom will never be destroyed. "(Daniel 7v14) Only God can reign eternally; Nebuchadnezzar and Darius came to understand this truth. This person, like a son of man, is Jesus-Christ.

Jesus-Christ used the name " Son of Man " when describing himself, (Matthew 9v6,
"the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive the sins ", 20v28, "the Son of Man came… to serve and give his life as a ransom for many"). In so doing He identified himself with these Old Testament prophecies. The Gospel of Jesus-Christ is an eternal Gospel, which is salvation for all. There is neither Jew nor pagan in Him, because the sons of Abraham are those that have believed on Jesus-Christ. All nations, tribes, and people are made one in Him. In the epistle to the Galatians, Paul explains that those that have faith are sons of Abraham. Every nation can find salvation in Jesus-Christ and in Him alone. So, let us fear God and give him glory.

The promise made to Abraham was therefore fully accomplished in Jesus-Christ. In Him the wall of partition between man and God and between the nations, the languages, the tribes and the peoples of this earth was broken down. The sons of Abraham (by faith) form one kingdom, and their role is to serve their God as priests. They will make up this large crowd in heaven that cries, " Glory to the Lamb who was slain! "

How can two cultures be brought closer together?
How can the linguistic barriers that separate us be crossed?
